Prevent Heart Disease When You Have Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 and type 2 diabetes can both lead to heart disease. The reason why this happens is related to the effects of insulin when added to the body in injection form or high levels of insulin produced in the body from eating a high glycemic index diet. Insulin in higher amounts than what is needed causes a whole cascade of reactions to occur in the body related to the storage of fat, including diminishing the immune system responses.
That’s not to say that insulin is responsible for heart disease 100%. It’s not. What you put in your mouth all day long may play a more important role.
Nevertheless, when you start showing signs of heart disease, what are you going to do? Let’s say you have already had three heart attacks and you’re not even 60 years old. Certainly, you’ll stay on your prescription medications, but what will you do beyond that? There are things you can do, you know!
Years ago, one of my patients came to me after another one of her husband’s heart attacks. He had type 1 diabetes and had already had three heart attacks and suffered a lot from them. She could not bear the thought of losing him and wanted to know what she could do that was natural for him if it happened again. I told her about one of the principles learned as a Master Herbalist: use cayenne pepper whenever there’s a heart attack emergency while you’re waiting for the ambulance to get to you.
Cayenne pepper comes in a tincture form, which makes it immediately assimilable in the body, but in the event you don’t have the tincture when you need it, you could substitute a teaspoon of cayenne powder mixed in a glass of water. The person will have to drink it fast. Dr. John Christopher, founder of the School of Natural Healing, greatly discussed the effects of cayenne with his students. “It will jumpstart the heart,” he used to say. (He has since passed away.)
“How long does it take?” was always the question students asked. The answer was in a heartbeat.
Like Clockwork, He Had Another Heart Attack
Well, sure enough, her husband had another heart attack. As it was occurring, she ran to the kitchen and mixed up the cayenne powder in a glass of water. “Here, drink this fast! Don’t stop! Drink the whole glass!” she commanded.
He followed instructions. After about 30 seconds of heat sensations coursing through his body, it was obvious that he was rapidly recovering. The pain of the heart attack disappeared quickly.
“Don’t ever do that to me again!” he told her, thinking of only the heat sensation instead of the pain that had left him.
She transported him to the hospital and they told her he had indeed suffered a heart attack but the damage was minimal.
He Beat Angina with Cayenne
Another patient of mine, a type 1 diabetic, was also experiencing heart problems, especially angina – a sensation that the heart is seizing due to lack of oxygen. He began taking a few drops of cayenne tincture a few times a day and within a week, he had drastically cut down the number of incidents of angina. Within a few weeks, they were not occurring at all.
Using cayenne pepper is an emergency tactic that may be used both daily and for specific incidents. It’s a great strategy to prevent heart disease.
